Introduction
If someone asks me which trip I’ll never forget in my life — without thinking twice, I’ll say Goa! 🌴 Last December, I went on a 5-day Goa trip with four of my best friends, and honestly, it was one of the best experiences of my life. In this Goa Travel Guide, I’m sharing everything — from our planning and the beaches we explored to food, nightlife, and travel tips — so that your Goa trip becomes just as amazing!

Goa Travel Guide: Planning Our Trip
It all started with a random WhatsApp chat — one friend said, “Bro, let’s go to Goa!” Within 20 minutes, we all agreed. We booked a train from Mumbai to Madgaon and found a cozy Airbnb near Baga Beach.
Goa is perfect whether you’re planning a friends’ trip, honeymoon, or family vacation. The state is divided into North Goa (party zone) and South Goa (peaceful and scenic). We decided to cover both in 5 days.
Goa Travel Guide: Best Time to Visit Goa
We went in December, and honestly, that’s the best time to visit. The weather was perfect — sunny days and cool nights. Goa was decorated with Christmas lights, beach shacks were full of energy, and there was music everywhere.

But here’s a quick guide for you:
| Season | Months | Best For |
| Winter (Nov–Feb) | Pleasant weather, festivals | Beach parties & sightseeing |
| Summer (Mar–May) | Hot but cheaper stays | Fewer crowds |
| Monsoon (Jun–Sep) | Green landscapes | Waterfalls & nature lovers |
Day 1 – Welcome to Paradise

As soon as we reached our Airbnb near Baga Beach, we threw our bags and ran straight to the beach. The first sunset we saw in Goa — orange sky, music in the background, waves touching our feet — unforgettable! 🌅
We spent the evening at Britto’s Shack, eating seafood and enjoying live music. I tried Goan Fish Curry Rice, while my friends ordered Prawn Balchão and Bebinca for dessert.
At night, we went to Tito’s Lane and danced till 2 AM. Goa’s nightlife truly lives up to its hype — everyone was so free and happy.

Day 2 – Beach Hopping & Adventure
Our second day was full of adventure. We rented scooters for ₹400 per day and started beach hopping across North Goa.
We began at Calangute Beach, the most popular one, perfect for jet skiing and parasailing. Then we rode to Anjuna Beach, famous for its flea market. I bought a cool handmade bracelet and a beach hat there.
In the evening, we visited Chapora Fort (yes, the Dil Chahta Hai fort!). Sitting there and watching the sunset with my friends — it felt like a movie moment.
| Activity | Location | Experience |
| Jet Skiing | Calangute | ₹500 for 10 min thrill |
| Flea Market Shopping | Anjuna | Affordable souvenirs |
| Sunset View | Chapora Fort | Mesmerizing & calm |
Day 3 – Exploring Old Goa & Culture
We decided to take a break from beaches and explore Old Goa. It’s full of Portuguese-style architecture and historic churches.
- Basilica of Bom Jesus – Houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier.
- Se Cathedral – Massive and beautifully designed.
- Fontainhas – Goa’s Latin Quarter with colorful Portuguese houses and cafés.
After that, we visited a spice plantation in Ponda, where we learned about cardamom, cinnamon, and how cashew feni is made.
We ended the day with a sunset cruise on the Mandovi River — music, dance, and beautiful views.
Day 4 – South Goa Serenity
For our last two days, we went to South Goa, which is calmer and more scenic. We stayed near Palolem Beach, and honestly, it felt like heaven!
Palolem is not about parties — it’s about peace. You’ll find yoga sessions, cozy beach huts, and candlelight dinners by the sea. We rented kayaks and went paddling early morning. Dolphins swam alongside — magical! 🐬
Later, we visited Agonda Beach — hardly any crowd, just waves and coconut trees.
| South Goa Beach | Vibe | Best For |
| Palolem | Calm & peaceful | Yoga, kayaking |
| Agonda | Secluded | Meditation, nature walks |
| Colva | Lively | Families & couples |
Food We Loved

Goa’s food is heaven for both seafood lovers and vegetarians.
Here’s what we loved the most:
- Goan Fish Curry Rice – spicy & tangy.
- Kingfish Fry – crispy and juicy.
- Prawn Balchão – must-try!
- Bebinca – layered dessert you can’t miss.
- Feni – Goa’s local drink made from cashews.
👉 If you love café vibes, check out:
- Thalassa (Vagator) – Greek vibes & sunsets.
- Mojigao Café (Assagao) – peaceful jungle café.
- Artjuna Café (Anjuna) – breakfast perfection.
Nightlife Experience
Every night in Goa felt different.
- Tito’s & Mambo’s (Baga) – DJ, lights, and full energy.
- Curlies (Anjuna) – beachside party till late night.
- Silent Noise (Palolem) – a silent disco with headphones (super fun!).
If you want a quieter evening, try a bonfire by the beach — we did it on our last night with a guitar and some music.
Shopping Spots
We went crazy shopping!
- Anjuna Flea Market – bags, jewelry, beachwear.
- Mapusa Market – spices, feni, cashew nuts.
- Calangute Market – clothes & handicrafts.
💡 Tip: Bargain smartly — start with half the quoted price and smile!
